Convenient Indianapolis NIPP Tests

Our Indianapolis Prenatal Paternity Testing Services at a Glance

Prenatal Genetics Laboratory focuses on one thing and does it well: non-invasive prenatal paternity testing that gives you a reliable answer before your baby is born, without amniocentesis, without CVS, and without the risks those older procedures carry. All it takes is a maternal blood sample and a DNA sample from each alleged father.

Indianapolis is one of the Midwest’s major medical and life-sciences centers, home to a large academic medical system, one of the country’s biggest medical schools, and a dense network of hospitals and labs, which makes getting a maternal blood draw simple no matter where in the metro you live. We coordinate collection at more than 15 locations across the area, from Downtown and Broad Ripple to the fast-growing northern suburbs of Carmel, Fishers, Westfield, and Noblesville, and out to Greenwood, Avon, Plainfield, and Zionsville. Because Indianapolis sits at the center of the state, clients from across Central Indiana can usually find a convenient draw site close to home or work.

Two Free Extras, Every Time

Along with your paternity result, every test includes the baby’s gender and a free follow-up paternity test after birth, both at no extra cost.

Testing Done in Our Own Lab

Rather than outsourcing to a third-party lab, we run the entire non-invasive prenatal paternity test in-house, start to finish.

DNA Testing As Early as 8 Weeks

There’s usually enough of your baby’s DNA in your bloodstream to test from the 8-week mark, dated from your last period.

Over 99% Test Result Accuracy

When the maternal sample is taken at 8 weeks or later and every possible father is included, results exceed 99% accuracy.

Results in About 8 Business Days

Standard turnaround is about 8 business days for Indianapolis clients from when we receive your samples; a 5-business-day rush is available for $100.

One Price, Every Father Included

One price of $998 plus an $80 FedEx fee covers the test, with no surcharge for testing more than one possible father.

Simple, Straightforward NIPP DNA Testing Process

How Prenatal Paternity Testing Works in Indianapolis

Step 1: Order and speak with your case agent

When you order, your dedicated case agent reviews your timeline, confirms who’s being tested, and answers any questions before anything ships.

Step 2: Receive your collection kit

We send a complete kit containing blood collection tubes for the mother, cheek swabs for each possible father, clear instructions, a submission form, and a prepaid FedEx pouch for returning everything.

Step 3: Have the mother’s blood drawn locally in Indianapolis

We line up a convenient local lab or hospital in the Indianapolis area for the maternal sample, or you can use your own OB-GYN, physician, or nurse if that’s easier.

Step 4: Collect each possible father’s sample

Each alleged father simply swabs the inside of the cheek. If people aren’t in the same place, we’ll send separate kits to separate addresses, even if they are outside Indianapolis or Indiana state.

Step 5: Send your samples and receive results

Return everything in the prepaid pouch. Once your samples reach our laboratory, results are usually ready within about 8 business days and delivered privately to you.

Convenient Collection Across Indy

Local Blood Collection Across the Indianapolis Metro

Few cities make a blood draw as easy as Indianapolis does. As a regional healthcare and life-sciences hub, the metro has hospitals and laboratories in nearly every direction, so we can coordinate the mother’s collection at more than 10 sites across the area. Whether you’re in Downtown or the Mile Square, Broad Ripple, Fountain Square, Irvington, Meridian-Kessler, or Speedway, or in the surrounding communities of Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, Westfield, Greenwood, Avon, Plainfield, Brownsburg, or Zionsville, your case agent will help you find the most convenient option.

Prefer to use your own doctor or nurse? That’s completely fine. The facility doing the draw may add a small fee of its own, usually in the $20 to $50 range, separate from the cost of your test. And since the whole process runs by mail, the mother and the alleged father don’t have to be together, or even in the same state, separate kits can go to different addresses anywhere in the U.S. or Canada. With Indianapolis sitting at the crossroads of Central Indiana, that flexibility makes it easy whether the father is across town in Fishers or living out of state.

The NIPP Test Science, Simply Explained

A Safe, Non-Invasive DNA Test: How It Works

Prenatal Genetics Laboratory's prenatal dna testing kit

It may sound surprising, but a small amount of your baby’s DNA naturally crosses into your bloodstream during pregnancy. Our test takes advantage of that: from a routine maternal blood sample, we isolate this cell-free fetal DNA and compare it against the DNA of each possible father collected by cheek swab. No amniocentesis, no chorionic villus sampling, and none of the small miscarriage risk those invasive options carry, just a blood draw and a swab.

In our laboratory, that genetic material is analyzed using established techniques such as real-time PCR and SNP profiling to determine paternity months before delivery.

Accuracy and Timeline Overview

Accuracy, Timing, and Your Paternity Test Results

Provided the maternal blood is drawn at 8 weeks or later and a sample is supplied for every possible father, our prenatal paternity test delivers accuracy above 99%. For each man tested, the report states plainly whether he is excluded or cannot be excluded as the biological father, and we always recommend including every possible father, at no extra cost, so there’s no lingering doubt.

Occasionally a first sample doesn’t contain enough fetal DNA to complete the analysis; if that happens and the original draw was at 8 weeks or later, a repeat collection is done at no charge. Most clients have their results within about 8 business days, and a 5-business-day rush is available for an extra $100.

Eligibility for a DNA Test While Pregnant

Who Can Take a Prenatal Paternity Test, and Who Shouldn't

The test is available from 8 weeks of pregnancy onward and it’s the right fit for most expecting mothers, but a few situations can affect the result, so it isn’t recommended if any of the following apply:

  • the pregnancy started as twins and one didn’t continue (a vanishing twin);
  • you’re currently carrying twins or more;
  • a surrogate or gestational carrier is involved; or
  • you’ve had a recent miscarriage, which can leave lingering fetal DNA in the bloodstream.

Your Privacy Is Protected, Always.

We treat your case with strict confidentiality. Results are released only to the paying party, and you can protect your case with a password of your choosing so that only you can access your information. We’ll follow any special communication instructions you give us, and where needed, kits and correspondence can be arranged discreetly. Your information is never shared without your consent.

Transparent Pricing That Works For You

Transparent, All-Inclusive Prenatal Paternity Test Pricing

Our non-invasive prenatal paternity test is $998, plus an $80 FedEx shipping fee, and that’s the whole price, with nothing hidden. To begin, a non-refundable $300 deposit is applied toward your balance; the rest is due before results are released, and results go to the paying party.

That single price covers the collection kit, lab testing for the mother, the fetus, and every possible father, the baby’s gender result, and a complimentary paternity test after the baby is born. Testing additional possible fathers never costs extra. Need it faster? A 5-business-day rush is $100. Keep in mind the local draw site may charge its own small fee. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and PayPal.

Absolutely. We can send separate kits to separate addresses anywhere in the U.S. or Canada, so each person provides a sample wherever they happen to be.

Can more than one possible father be tested?

Yes, and there's no extra charge. We'll include a kit for each man who needs to be tested.

What if there isn't enough fetal DNA in my sample?

We'll arrange a second draw a bit later in the pregnancy at no cost to re-test, as long as your first sample was collected at 8 weeks or later.

It isn't recommended with a vanishing twin, a current multiple pregnancy, a surrogate or gestational carrier, or a recent miscarriage. If you're unsure, give us a call first.
